Allyson Mae Gore: Member of AHOU

In 2008, Allyson Mae Gore received her Bachelor’s of Science from the College of Technology at Purdue University. Shortly thereafter, Allyson Mae Gore was offered the opportunity to begin a career as an underwriter at MetLife. During her time at MetLife, Allyson Mae Gore was offered many exciting opportunities, including the chance to become a member of the Middle Market project and the opportunity to attend the SwissRe Essentials of Life Underwriting Conference in 2011.

Soon after beginning her career at MetLife, Allyson Mae Gore chose to join the Association of Home Office Underwriters. Since many underwriters are able to work from home, AHOU offers those professionals to still build connections within their industry even when they aren’t spending their days in an office. Allyson Mae Gore found that her involvement in this group allowed her to feel less isolated when she worked from home. In addition, AHOU provided advice and support for dealing with the challenges of working from home.

However, Allyson Mae Gore did not limit her professional connections to her association with AHOU. Allyson Mae Gore also pursued designations like FALU, FLMI, and ACS in order to prove her value within the underwriting community. All of her hard work eventually paid off, as Allyson Mae Gore was offered the position of Senior Life Underwriter at Fidelity in 2013. This exciting position provided Allyson Mae Gore with the chance to interact with a new team of professionals as she learned new skills in her field.
